The Euro 50 Q&A – Simon Calver, Lovefilm
Online streaming service and DVD retailer Lovefilm was acquired by Amazon at the turn of the year. Under the leadership of CEO Simon Calver, the company increased its UK workforce by 20% as it continued to expand. As well as striking new content deals this year – most notably an exclusive new pay TV window with Warner Bros – the company has also launched on a range of connected devices, including the iPad, Sony Playstation 3 and Sony Bravia TVs.
