Lithuania’s Cgates acquires Remo TV
Starman Group-owned Lithuanian cable operator CGates has acquired cable operator Remo TV, which operates in the towns of Elektrėnuose and Kaišiadoryse.
Remo TV serves about 7,500 homes in the two areas in the Kaunas region in the central part of the country.
The latest acquisition follows CGates’ acquisition of regional operator Kava last year, taking its network to 100,000 additional homes passed.
Cgates currently has a base of about 130,000 TV and 90,000 internet customers, serving the cities of Vilnius, Kaunas, Siauliai, Marijampole, Alytus, Ukmergė, Zarasai, Vilkaviškis, Skuodas, Šilutė and Lentvaris.
Commercial director Tomas Burovas said that the company would offer advanced services to Elektrėnuose and Kaišiadoryse residents in the near future.
Estonia-based Starman Group, which in March was sold by East Capital Explorer to Providence Equity Partners, is attempting to build a pan-Baltic operation.
