Eutelsat delays 9B launch due to ‘weather issues’
Eutelsat has delayed the launch of its Eutelsat 9B satellite by two days citing “weather-related logistical issues”.
The satellite is now due to launch on a Proton launch vehicle on January 30. Eutelsat said: “launch vehicle processing continues without any technical issues and the satellite remains in a safe configuration at the launch site.”
Eutelsat 9B is a high-capacity Ku-band satellite for the 9° East position and will address “high-growth broadcast markets” throughout Europe.
It will replace Eutelsat 9A, which broadcasts more than 350 DTH and DTT channels, including 100 in High Definition.
