Netflix goes live in Australia, New Zealand
Netflix launches today in Australia and New Zealand, offering streaming packages priced from AU$8.99 (€6.47) to AU$14.99.
The entry-level package offers single-stream, standard definition content, while the AU$14.99 ‘family’ plan supports 4K Ultra HD quality and gives access to four streams. A mid-priced AU$11.99 plan offers HD quality and two streams.
Viewers in Australia and New Zealand will be able to access Netflix on “nearly any Internet-connected screen” including smart TVs, Apple TV, Google Chromecast, and Apple, Windows and Android tablets and smartphones. The service also will be available on Fetch TV’s second-generation set-top box and on game consoles, including Sony’s PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Xbox One, and Nintendo’s Wii U.
