Horror channel NYX debuts on Freeview UK

Horror-themed television channel NYX is launching on Freeview UK in a strategic partnership with Global Distribution Services, ahead of Halloween.  

NYX will be available on the 24/7 free-to-view channel 289, with a curated selection of horror film titles that the content provider said is “poised to become the ultimate haven for connoisseurs of the horror genre” .

A division of NYX Media Corporation, NYX TV currently runs in the UK, Canada, and will debut in the US next year.

“We are thrilled to bring NYX into homes across Freeview UK in time for Halloween,” said Tanya Kronfli, managing director of global distribution services,  “Our aim is not only to entertain but also create a community on Freeview UK where fans can come together and celebrate their love for all things horrifying.”

 “The UK genre community are crying out for a channel that genuinely loves horror films as much as the diehard fans do. That’s NYX UK. A channel run by horror fans for horror fans. This doesn’t currently exist in the FAST channel landscape, especially in the UK,” said Corinne Ferguson, head of NYX.
