Synamedia partners with AMT to broaden reach of Gravity platform
Video and broadband software provider, Synamedia, has entered into a partnership with Advanced Media Technologies (AMT) to expand the reach of its Synamedia Gravity platform across North America and Europe.
Gravity is a cloud-based, vendor-agnostic SaaS platform that allows operators to adopt a broad set of services more quickly and bring them to market faster. In addition, for broadband and video service providers that manage services and device orchestration for Customer Premises Equipment (CPE), Gravity reduces operating costs while enhancing the subscriber experience and onboarding new revenue-generating broadband services, according to the tech outfit. The platform boasts advanced business services support, such as managed Wi-Fi and simplified remote device management – key benefits for those providers serving SMBs.
Synamedia also unveiled support for TR-369 and OpenWRT to strengthen its services management for small and medium businesses (SMBs), along with direct management capabilities for residential Android TV devices.
With support for both TR-369’s industry-standard interface and framework and the OpenWRT operating system, Gravity are able to manage and control a wider range of CPE devices including gateways, STBs, IoT and smart home devices from diverse manufacturers. Support for OpenWRT also provides increased operational efficiency and advanced networking features, like VPN and QoS, customisation and security.
The latest version of Gravity now extends support to Android TV devices. This enables operators to leverage Android TV’s streaming features, even on legacy set-top boxes (STBs) while relying on Synamedia’s experts for management and QoS.
Nick Thexton, EVP, media cloud services, Synamedia, said, “Building on Synamedia’s heritage in the service provider market, video streaming, and consumer product software, Gravity provides comprehensive cloud-based device management, irrespective of the vendor or platform. And now, with support for new standards and our first global reseller partnership for Gravity with AMT, we are bringing the benefits of our robust and dynamic ecosystem of pre-integrated services for the connected home and SMBs to a much wider audience.”
“Our broadband expertise and global reach will accelerate the impact of Gravity’s massive benefits to broadband service providers and positively impact user experiences,” said Tom Mclaughlin, CEO of AMT. “While most device and service management products are built for large enterprises, Gravity is the only solution purpose-built to meet the specific needs of the SMB market. The power of positive user experiences is one the biggest factors in customer retention, and with this new partnership we are bringing those benefits to more audiences.”
