Sky Ireland signs wholesale deal to use Virgin Media fibre network

Sky Ireland has struck a broadband wholesale access deal with Virgin Media Ireland that it says will significantly enhance broadband services available to Sky Ireland customers, across the country.

Through the partnership, Sky Ireland will use the infrastructure of Virgin Media Ireland’s high-speed fibre broadband network, which currently passes one million premises across Ireland.

The company’s ongoing €200m network upgrade to full fibre is continuing to 2025 and will support speeds up to 10Gbps. Virgin Media Ireland has already upgraded over 250,000 premises to fibre across the Virgin network.

Sky Ireland’s full fibre broadband offering on the network will be available from October 31.
