Warner Bros. Discovery in Polish news tie-up with Ringier Axel Springer
Warner Bros. Discovery, owner of Polish broadcaster and pay TV outfit TVN, has teamed up with publishing outfit Ringier Axel Springer Polska to create a bundle comprising news channel streaming service TVN24 GO with Ringier Axel Springer’s Onet Premium offering.
In addition to both services being offered for a single subscription, users can log into both websites using their existing credentials.
The two platforms offer a mix of video, audio and text-based content, enabling users to access, for example, news and debates about Poland’s current election campaign both live and on-demand.
Onet Premium provides access to articles, podcasts and videos from sources including Newsweek, Forbes, Forbes Women, Przegląd Sportowy Onet, Auto Świat, Politico and Die Welt
TVN24 GO provides two channels: TVN24 and TVN24 BiS as well as a library of on-demand content.
“I am very happy that we are launching another joint project with TVN Warner Bros. Discovery. I believe in cooperation and partnerships because thanks to them, market leaders can create unique, attractive solutions for users. The joint Onet Premium package with TVN24 GO combines high-quality journalistic content and excellent podcasts with access to news television and a rich database of documentaries. We believe that in the near future this will be the most popular subscription package of this type in Poland,” said Aleksander Kutela, CEO of Ringier Axel Springer Polska. Kutela headed up HBO in Poland (now owned by Warner Bros. Discovery) before moving to his current role 10 years ago.
“This package shows that free media want to cooperate with each other and promote quality journalism and content that currently excites great interest among both viewers and Internet users. We meet these needs,” said Mateusz Sosnowski, director of TVN’s News Digital Department and deputy editor-in-chief of TVN24.
