WBD reports record-breaking streaming figures for cycling coverage
Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Sports Europe has reported record-breaking streaming figures following its coverage of Grand Tours such as Giro d’Italia, Tour de France and La Vuelta a España.
The company said its live and on-demand coverage of La Vuelta, discovery+ saw streaming figures spike by 72% year-on-year with WBD’s total streaming audience increasing by more than a fifth. This was coupled with an 8% increase in viewers watching Eurosport’s television coverage of all 21 matches across Europe, including a record edition of the race in France.
Eurosport.com sites recorded a 52% boost in unique users consuming cycling content during the race across Europe, with every market experiencing growth in visitors.
According to WBD, it had garnered over half a million daily visitors across the network and overall has grown total engagement in its coverage of women’s cycling by a quarter compared to 2022.
