DFB is to launch FAST platform to house German football content
The German Football Association (DFB) is to launch a FAST channel called DFB Play TV which will house live and on-demand content from the DFB Cup, the Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga , the German U21, U20 and U19, the women’s national team home games and the 3rd league .
DFB Play TV will sit alongside the football’s OTT offering DFB Play which is available internationally on iOS and Android as well as on the DFB website. Selected live and on-demand content is also delivered via the DFB’s YouTube channel and social media platforms.
The German league also announced it had granted new international media rights for the DFB Cup 2023/2024 season to over 40 TV and streaming partners across several countries.
In Vietnam, coverage has been agreed with sports media company Next Media and the television channel VTVCab for three seasons up to and including the 2025/2026 season. In China, the DFB Cup will be shown on Chinese Mobile’s streamer Migu under a new three-year deal that complements the DFB’s existing agreement with state television broadcaster CCTV. In other parts of Asia, the DFB has also extended its contracts with the Indian broadcaster Sony and with Kompas TV in Indonesia.
Across Africa, the DFB entered into new partnerships with the national broadcasters New World TV (in French and local languages) and in English)ESPN Africa . This is in addition to the DFB’s existing agreements with Azam TV vovering several countries in East Africa and Sporty TV in Nigeria. Other broadcasting agreements were signed in Ghana with Sporty TV and HD+/SCOOORE for the current season.
