Channel 5 secures Cricket World Cup highlights package

Paramount-owned UK broadcaster Channel 5 has struck a new partnership with Comcast-owned pay TV provider Sky to bring daily highlights of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 to free-to-air TV for fans across the UK. 

The event takes place from October 5-November 19 in India where ten teams will battle is out across 47 games as England defend their title.

Channel 5’s highlights will round up the action from each fixture. The coverage forms part of a commercial agreement with Sky who hold the exclusive UK rights to live coverage of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 and will also air highlights packages across its pay sports channels.

Channel 5 will provide a terrestrial home for 48 one-hour highlights programmes for the duration of the World Cup, including at least nine England games scheduled at 19:00. Following their linear TV broadcasts, all highlights will be made available on Channel 5’s on-demand platform, My5.

Sky Media also delivers advertising sales for Channel 5 in its role as partner.

Channel 5 has previously been the free to air home for cricket, broadcasting England’s team highlights every summer from 2006 to 2019.
