Canal+ teams up with ONATi to target French Polynesia
French pay TV operator Canal+ has teamed up with French Polynesian telco ONATi, owned by OPT Group, to launch new services in French Polynesia.
ONATi and Canal+ will take a new step in their existing collaboration to offer new services to consumers in the territory.
ONATi, through it VINI brand, will contribute its network and technical distribution expertise across the five archipelagos within the territory, which covers a total area the size of Europe, while Canal+ will bring its proprietary channels and relations with content providers alongside its own technical expertise in video.
The pair said the partnership would bring the best content available to French Polynesian households.
The partners aim to launch new offerings in the fourth quarter of this year.
“I am delighted with this partnership with ONATi that will enable us to develop our presence on the territory of Polynesia with offerings to meet the latest expectations of this market, and more generally to reinforce our presence in the Pacific region, where Canal+ is already well-established,” said Jacques du Puy, president of Canal+ International.
“OPT Group celebrates our reinforced partnership between Canal+ and ONATi because it will propel a new dynamic in the audiovisual sector by proposing new channels and new services and functionalities to all Polynesians. This partnership is going to meet the expectations of our customers in terms of diversity of programming and the offering of services,” said Jean-François Martin, CEO of OPT Group.
