Sky and Stuff partner on Rugby World Cup 2023 coverage in New Zealand
Sky and media hub Stuff Digital have joined forces to deliver coverage of the Rugby World Cup 2023 in New Zealand.
Stuff was first developed to provide a cross-channel offering for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 which it is currently live-streaming.
The hub will be a one-stop shop for Rugby fans featuring 24/7 news of the world cup, as well as commentary from Stuff and Sky experts. With an opportunity for sponsorship and advertising.
Alongside live coverage of matches, Sky’s in-house production team will produce shows and stories dedicated to the tournament. Rugby World Cup 2023 will take place in France from September 8 to October 28, where Sky is the local rights holder.
Stuff Digital chief executive Laura Maxwell said, “Together we reach 69% or 2.9 million Kiwis a month, so this is a powerful partnership that is going to deliver value for Stuff, Sky, our partners and audiences,”
Sky’s chief executive, Sophie Moloney, added the partnership will be key in driving engagement across the region.
“We want to make it easy for as many New Zealanders as possible to view premium matches including the semi-final and final by enabling them to be broadcast live and free-to-air on Prime and also live-streamed as ‘Sunday Sessions’ on the Stuff Rugby World Cup hub. Prime will show 12 live and delayed matches across the tournament.”
