ITV wins exclusive live coverage of select Women’s World Cup Quarter-Finals
ITV has secured exclusive live coverage of three of the four FIFA Women’s World Cup Quarter-Finals including the England and Colombia match on Saturday August 12.
The UK pubcaster as split free-to-air coverage of the matches with rival broadcaster BBC as part of a media rights partnership with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
The deal was signed with the tournament only five weeks out, after FIFA had threatened a Europe-wide TV blackout if rights offers from a number of countries were not upped.
Programming of the world cup which is taking place in Australia and New Zealand commenced on July 20.
The quarter-finals kicks off with Spain v Netherlands on Friday, with programming from 1.50am. While, the England game is the second part of an ITV1 World Cup Quarter-Final double bill, which begins with the earlier Saturday match between hosts Australia and France.
The three quarter-finals will be hosted by sports presenters Laura Woods, Eni Aluko, Karen Carney, Katie Shanahan, Jill Scott and Ian Wright. While, Seb Hutchinson and Emma Hayes will provide commentary.
England face Colombia in the quarter-final of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 will be aired on the BBC Radio 5 Live and Sounds, with the BBC broadcasting Japan’s quarter-final match against Sweden. Highlights of all the quarter-final matches will be available to watch on BBC 3, BBC iPlayer, and the BBC Sport website and app.
FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 final will be broadcasted across both ITV1 and BBC1.
