Vevo’s Wham! channel reaches 1bn views
The global music video network Vevo has revealed its dedicated Wham! channel has reached over 1 billion views since its launch.
The company said the WhamVevo channel on YouTube has hit an all-time peak for views following the launch of the Netflix documentary on the 80s band, with an uplift of 69% in video views the day after its release.
Fans of the George Michael and Andrew Ridgele duo, tuned in to watch music videos for its classic hits, Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go and Club Tropicana.
The channel launched on YouTube in 2009 and currently features 107 videos.
Wham! the documentary debuted on Netflix on July 5 following the pair’s rise to stardom, with access to both both of their personal archive including never-before-seen footage and candid unheard interviews,
