Movistar Plus+ taps Vizrt to transform sports content delivery
Spain’s pay TV operator Movistar Plus+ has tapped solution provider Vizrt to transform its sports content creation in an aim to boost audience engagement.
The partnership sees Movistar Plus+ move away way from traditional television broadcasts and upgrade its studio with advanced AR graphics, control for video walls, and virtual production elements which appeals to the younger audiences.
Harnessing Vizrt’s cutting-edge control and graphics tools, Movistar Plus+ combines multiple layers of storytelling and delivers visually compelling shows that encompass various sports genres.
To enhance production efficiency, Movistar Plus+ utilises Viz Multiplay, a solution for controlling and playing out content on screen and video walls. Viz Multiplay helps Movistar Plus+ to optimise efficiency, producing multiple shows using a single studio.
Movistar Plus+’s production setup integrates Vizrt tools into its sports workflows targeted towards mobile-savvy younger generation.
Movistar Plus+ has also merged its physical and virtual worlds, incorporating augmented reality elements into its narratives.
“At Vizrt, efficiency is at the core of our control applications, and Movistar Plus+ serves as a great example of how sports platforms can benefit from the power of Viz Multiplay. By enabling a single operator to control all screens and video walls within one studio, Movistar Plus+ has transformed its physical space into a dynamic studio for diverse sports coverage while maintaining its recognizable brand identity,” said Ionut ‘Johnny’ Pogacean, senior product manager, Vizrt.
“Since we implemented Viz Multiplay, everything has become much simpler. It has an extremely simple and highly illustrative interface, yet it provides you with a complete view of what the set is like and on an operational level it makes it very easy for us, to control everything,” added Javier Coulouscou, graphis operator, Movistar Plus+.
