Toshiba launches first TV range with Amazon Fire TV built in

Toshiba has launched its first range of QF5D TVs with Amazon Fire TV built in for the UK market.

Currently available in 43”, 50”, 55” and 65” models, the Toshiba QF5D can be purchased at Amazon and Argos in the US from £349.

With Fire TV built in, the Toshiba QF5D now includes Alexa voice search and integrates into Alexa to offer smart home control.

Users can access films and TV series through streaming services such as Prime Video, Netflix, Now, Disney+ and BBC iPlayer via the Fire TV operating system and all through the QF5Ds home screen.

They can also access the UK’s Freeview Play with access to players such as ITVX, Channel 4, UKTV Play, My5, and BBC iPlayer.

Via Toshiba TV’s TRU Picture Engine, the new range automatically upscales non-4K content. TRU Micro-Dimming technology analyses 300 different zones to further enhance the contrast of an image by optimising the darker and brighter regions to create a more fluid and realistic image, according to Toshiba.

With TRU Flow, the QF5D analyses the image and frames to minimise judder effect and keep up with action scenes, according to Toshiba.

The range also comes with. Dolby Vision HDR and speakers created in collaboration with Onkyo and Dolby Atmos.
