Deutsche Telekom intergrates Pluto TV on MagentaTV
Deutsche Telekom has struck an agreement with Paramount to launch the FAST offering Pluto TV on its MagentaTV service on June 28.
MagentaTV subscribers will have access to 150 FAST channels showcasing content from series, movies, comedy, sports and documentaries.
The lineup of channels include Pluto TV Star Trek, Pluto TV Anime, crime & mystery channel X Factor: The Unbelievable and documentary channel Pluto TV History. Pluto TV also has a range of series-centric channels such as SpongeBob SquarePants, South Park and Beverly Hills 90210.
Arnim Butzen, head of TV at Telekom, said: “The cooperation with Pluto TV is another component of our successful strategy. Our goal is to offer our customers the best TV experience together with strong partners. With the Pluto TV app, we are now expanding our linear TV offering with high-quality content from numerous genres – and at no extra charge. In addition, we are introducing our customers to the innovation topic FAST Channels for the first time, which will become increasingly important for the MagentaTV platform.”
“With PlutoTV we can finally take all MagentaTV customers on our journey to the most exciting TV moments of our time,” added Sabine Anger, SVP streaming at Paramount in the region.
The telco operator reported last month its German combined IPTV and satellite TV base increased by 3.8% year-on-year to reach 4.172 million at the end of the quarter to March, with 50,000 subscribers added in the first three months.
