BBC adds complete Red Dwarf and comedy boxsets to BBC iPlayer

UK pubcaster the BBC is adding a range of comedy boxsets to its BBC iPlayer streaming line-up, including sci-fi comedy sitcom Red Dwarf, which has not been available on BBC TV since 2007.

The BBC said it was adding every episode of Red Dwarf’s run on the BBC to iPlayer, as well as revived series including the recent feature length special The Promised Land, which originally aired on digital channel Dave.

Red Dwarf hasn’t been on the BBC since 2007, and the revived series has never been shown on the BBC before.

The show ran for eight series on the BBC from 1988 to 1997, before being revived on Dave for three full series and the feature length Promised Land special.

All 12 series of Red Dwarf are now available on BBC iPlayer as of today.

In addition to Red Dwarf, the BBC is adding several other cassic comedy boxsets to iPlayer including Kathy Burke’s odd couple sitcom Gimme Gimme Gimme and Spencer Jones’ Mister Winner.

All three series of Gimme, Gimme, Gimme and all episodes of Mister Winner are now available on BBC iPlayer as of today.
