Elon Musk plans to launch Twitter video app for smart TVs
Tech entrepreneur and Twitter owner, Elon Musk has revealed his plans to launch a Twitter video app for smart TVs.
Musk announced on Twitter on Saturday (June 17) a video app for the social media platform on smart TVS was “coming”.
Musk completed the takeover of the social media firm for $43 billion last year of October after Twitter shareholders approved the transaction a month prior.
According to Reuters, last week on Thursday during an investor presentation Musk and Twitter’s recently appointed CEO Linda Yaccarino annouced the company plans to focus on video, creator and commerce partnerships to revamp the social media company’s business beyond digital advertising. In the presentation, it was revealed vertical video accounted for more than 10% of time spent on Twitter.
Yaccarino who was appointed in June told investors that the business is in early conversations with political and entertainment figures, payments services and news and media publications on potential partnerships.
Further details has yet to be revealed.
