BBC First debuts in Moldova

UK pubcaster, BBC has partnered with Orange Moldova, to launch the British drama linear channel, BBC First, in the territory.

The channel debuted in Moldova on June 6, joining the already present BBC News channel on the digital cable TV service.

According to BBC, the premium British drama will provide viewers with content that showcases complex characters, smartly twisted narratives, raw and unfiltered reality and emotional depth.

The slate of shows include Britain’s longest-running crime drama Silent Witness, The Kettering Incident, a mysterious crime drama, award winning drama Somewhere Boy and comedy drama Outlaws.

Programming will be available in English with Romanian subtitles.

Zbigniew Pruski, commercial director CEE at BBC Studios said: “I’m really glad to see further expansion of BBC First in the region and reaching even more homes with our top-notch British drama. I’m confident that Orange Moldova viewers will appreciate the variety of productions with truly addictive narratives, exceptional writing and acting and stunning cinematography. The channel recently debuted in Albania with Vodafone, where it is available to subscribers alongside BBC Earth.
