Parrot Analytics: Netflix dominates France’s top 10
Netflix’s shows dominated the most in-demand digital originals in France for the week ending May 14, with the streamer’s period drama Bridgerton leading in top spot.
Parrot Analytics analyses the demand for recent popular digital titles across international markets, based on the application of artificial intelligence to expressions of demand across social media, fan sites, peer-to-peer protocols and file-sharing platforms.
Parrot’s dataset compares the demand that exists for each series in this market, against the average TV show. A difference of 1x represents the market average and 10x means a series is 10 times more in demand than the average TV show in this market.
For the week May 7-17, Bridgerton topped the Parrot list for the country, scoring 25.36 times the average TV show rating. However, watched 15.64 times the average TV show rating, the period drama’s spin-off Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story did not perform as well and lands mid-pack on the list.
Netflix’s sci-fi drama Stranger Things which picked a score of 23.87 times the average TV show rating, takes second spot on the list behind Bridgerton.
Among the other Netflix titles which topped France’s top 10 digital originals are You in sixth, La Casa De Papel in ninth and Black Mirror in tenth.
Disney+ Star Wars series The Mandalorian sits in third spot attracting times 23.15 times the demand of an average show. While Apple TV+ made a double appearance with its comedy drama Ted Lasso in fourth place and dystopian series Silo in eighth place.
