RTL+ launches on Vodafone Deutschland

The RTL+ streaming service is now available on Vodafone Deutschland’s TV platform as a pre-installed app. 

Initially on the cable set-top GigaTV Cable Box 2 and soon to be added to the GigaTV Cable Box 1, the RTL+ app is also available for download on the Vodafone OTT boxes GigaTV Net Box and its Apple TV 4K boxes.

A subscription to the streaming service is required to access the RTL+ app on Vodafone. The RTL+ premium package, which includes exclusive films, series and shows as well as highlight programming in HD quality before it is broadcast on TV, costs €6.99 per month. It can be canceled anytime with a notice period of 30 days. New customers get a free trial month to get started.

The RTL+ app for Vodafone was created in cooperation with Hamburg-based Teravolt.

The launch on Vodafone comes after RTL posted strong growth for RTL+, its flagship German streaming offering.

That growth was fuelled in particular by RTL’s agreement with Deutsche Telekom whereby the latter markets the service on its MagentaTV platform, and the broadcaster will be hoping for a significant further uplift in numbers from this latest distribution deal.
