United Group’s Nova passes 400k subscribers
United Group-owned Greek pay TV outfit Nova – formerly known as Forthnet – has passed the milestone of 400,000 subscribers, according to the company.
Nova said its growth was attributable to its implementation of United Group’s EON advanced TV platform.
EON offers a programme guide, personalized content recommendation engine, remote control, profile creation, voice support and a searchable on-demand catalog, along with seven-day catch-iup TV, startover and the ability to stop and continue watching a programme later.
Other features include the EON kids, with eight kids channels including Disney Channel, Disney Junior, Nickelodeon, Boomerang, IDJKids, ducktv, Smile TV, Da Vinci, and EON Sports offerings. The latter features live match results, team lineups, player statistics and standings from football, basketball and tennis competitions.
The EON application is available for new generation smart TVs, while Nova is also supplying the EON Smart Box to subscribers.
United Group last year moved to combine Nova with Greek telco Wind Hellas to create an alternative multi-play provider in the Greek market.
