Red Bee promotes long-serving James Arnold to CEO
Broadcast and media services provider Red Bee Media has named James Arnold as chief executive officer. Arnold, who has been as chief commercial officer at the company for the last decade, replaces incumbent Steve Nylund – who flagged up his imminent departure in a retrospective blog post at the end of last year.
In his new role, Arnold has been charged with leading the next phase of growth. Commenting on his appointment, he said: “In 2023, the importance of partnerships in media has never been greater. Market acceleration brings increased complexity, risk and unpredictability, and media companies need proven and reliable partnerships to capture new revenue opportunities and secure sustainable growth. We’re ready to empower even more incredible success for our customers.”
Åsa Tamsons, Ericsson SVP, business area technologies & new businesses and Red Bee Media chairperson, added: “James was there from the beginning of Red Bee and is the right leader to take the business to the next level. The media landscape is changing faster than ever, and broadcasters and content providers need to deliver groundbreaking services to consumers while minimising costs and risks. James has unrivalled experience leading teams to deliver great results.”
Among a range of innovations in 2022, Red Bee Media, announced the addition of Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV (FAST) services to its Red Bee Pulse product. At the time, the company said its new FAST services would “enable media organisations to explore new business models and reach wider markets.”
The company’s current client portfolio includes the UK’s leading broadcasters as well as Canal+, RTL, TV Monde 5, Atres Media, RTE, Talpa TV and Fox Networks.
