DNA to debut Universal Electronics KITA remote
Finnish telco DNA has selected Universal Electronics Inc. (UEI) to debut the smart home device maker’s Android TV remote control, UEI KITA.
The remote, which has been awarded the RedDot award for its fit, form and function, is focused on being thinner and easier to hold than comparable remotes. It features a rechargeable battery via USB-C cable, and advanced tech such as high-precision voice control and Bluetooth Smart and Infrared wireless connectivity.
DNA is Finland’s largest cable operator and pay TV provider, with over 4 million mobile and fixed network subscribers. The company’s product development director Ville Partanen, said: “Adding the UEI KITA remote control to our product showcase allows DNA to surpass our customers’ expectations in next-generation, environmentally friendly technology, and make their lives less complicated.”
Kuldip Johal, UEI’s VP of Sales for Video Service Providers, said: “It’s a natural fit for DNA to be the first provider to introduce UEI’s flagship Android controller to its customer base. The UEI KITA’s consumer-centric, advanced technology directly aligns with DNA’s focus on sustainability, as well its relentless effort to launch a user experience that is extremely easy and looks and feels premium.”
