Tivù launches tivùsat USB CAM solution

Tivù, the joint-venture of Italian operators RAI, Mediaset and Telecom Italia Media (TIM), has announced a new solution to launch what it says is the first USB based module offering to the tivùsat users a full 4K TV viewing experience.

The solution embeds the tivùsat smart card into a small USB form-factor which is a plug & play and fully standardised customer device. The tiny 4k module has been developed with the help of SmarDTV Global.

The USB CAM is also integrated with NAGRA technology and compliant with the DVB CI Plus 2.0 standard.

Thanks to the removal of electrical and network cables, you keep using the TV remote control and the CAM is directly powered by the TV built-in USB interface. That way, we are able to answer customers’ expectations with a high-quality TV viewing experience at home and being able to positively act for the planet. That’s key for tivù!”

We have paid particular attention to reducing the amount of plastic in our packaging, working on size optimised carton boxes and enabling Tivù to minimise logistics in the end.”
