NOS adds fixed-line TV customers to offset DTH losses
Portuguese service provider NOS added 9,000 fixed line TV customers in the quarter to March but lost 6,900 satellite DTH customers over the same period.
The additions and losses left NOS with just over 1.4 million fixed line TV customers and 246,000 DTH customers. Fixed pay TV RGUs were up 2.9%, while convergent and integrated customers rose by 5.1% to 1.04 million.
Overall the company had 8.8 million consumer revenue-generating units at the end of March, including 1.49 million broadband customers and 3.35 million post-paid mobile customers.
Total net growth in RGUs amounted to 88,000, up from a loss of 16,600 for the same period last year, with the main driver being the 56,000 net mobile additions the company recorded in the quarter.
Consolidated revenues were up by 10.6% to €373.4 million for the quarter, while EBITDA was up 4.8% to €152.2 million.
