Vizio makes new hires to drive adtech business expansion
TV maker Vizio has announced the expansion of its direct-to-device advertising business, including a handful of new hires.
The company said that expanding the division will meet increasing advertiser demand and fuel growth. It will focus on growing its suite of products including ad tech solutions True Incremental Reach, Universal Frequency Control and Household Connect.
Fueling this expansion will be additions to Vizio’s in-house ad tech team including: Oscar ‘Oz’ Lang, VP of product management and former head of product for Adobe’s advertising cloud TV business; and product engineering VP Ben Sullins, formerly SVP of engineering at SpotX.
The company has also hired a number of staff from companies such as WarnerMedia, Comcast, Discovery, Magnite and Vevo Ads.
Vizio said that the team will focus on innovation, planning, targeting, measurement, and product development across the entire Vizio Ads product suite.
David Rudnick, senior vice president of product engineering at Vizio, said: “Since our IPO last year, we have been heavily investing in engineering and software to scale our Platform+ operations and build out our in-house ad tech team. This investment will not only provide unique opportunities and measurable outcomes for advertisers, but it also helps us drive better consumer experiences.”
This announcement comes after Vizio opened its Tech Innovation Center in Denver, Colorado in December. This office houses 140 engineering and tech specialists.
