Tricolor updates on subs base and unveils voice functionality plan
Russian pay TV provider Tricolor has provided an update on its 2021 performance, stating that it had a customer base of 12.261 million at the end of the year.
The operator said that its HD base grew from 10.3 million to 10.4 million over the course of the year, while its UHD base tripled to 681,000, with access to 10 4K channels.
Tricolor said that some 1.7 million customers used its online Tricolor Cinema and TV service last year, with about 14% of satellite TV customers also using streaming services, a doubling of the 2020 number.
Tricolor offered a total of 281 channels at the end of the year, including 24 Tricolor-owned TV channels, of which three were sports themed.
Tricolor said it was planning to revamp its user interface this year, with plans in place for a new satellite TV guide and recommendation service. This project will also see the launch of voice remote control functionality. The company expects this to be in place before the enf of the year.
