History Play debuts in CEE with Hungarian launch
A+E Networks EMEA has launched streaming service History Play in Hungary. The SVOD service will be available through RTL Most+, the commercial broadcaster’s own VOD portal.
The launch marks the first time that the A+E streaming offering will be available in the central and eastern Europe region. History Play is currently available in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Italy, and The Netherlands through various partnerships, including Amazon Prime and Apple TV+. The streaming service is also available in Sweden via Telia.
Programming on the Hungarian version of the service will include The Curse of Oak Island, Forged in Fire, Ancient Aliens and The UnXplained with William Shatner.
A+E said that the existing linear History Channel reached an average of over four million viewers in 2021 in Hungary, according to Nielsen audience reports.
