Can Netflix become a major gaming player?
The latest episode of Digital TV Europe’s podcast TV Watch is now available to stream wherever you get your podcasts.
In the latest episode, host Jonathan Easton speaks with Omdia analysts Steve Bailey and George Jijiashvili to discuss Netflix and its gaming ambitions.
While not quite hitting the heights of the stay-at-home 2020, Netflix has had a solid 2021. At the end of Q3, the streamer had 214 million paid subscribers worldwide and you may have noticed a few viral hits making the rounds.
But seemingly unsatisfied with just being at the top of the video streaming tree, the company is increasingly turning its attention to other forms of entertainment – chiefly video games.
In recent months, Netflix has made some high profile moves in the space with key hires and the integration of games into its mobile app.
The Omdia analysts provide an insight into Netflix’s place in the gaming landscape and answer whether the streaming giant will take on the big guns in the space.
TV Watch can be streamed via Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
