Major Twitch streamer Ludwig signs exclusivity deal with YouTube Gaming
Record-breaking Twitch streamer Ludwig Ahgren has signed a deal to exclusively broadcast on YouTube’s Gaming platform.
The streamer is best known for his ‘subathon’ where he live broadcast without stopping for a month, during which he increased his paid subscriber count to a record 283,066 subscribers paying at least US$5.
On YouTube, Ludwig already has more than 2 million subscribers to his channel where he regularly posts highlights of his streams.
Ahgren is not the first streamer to jump ship from Twitch to YouTube. Other major Twitch personalities including Ben “DrLupo” Lupo and Tim “TimTheTatMan” Betar made the move during the summer.
Explaining the move in a video, Ludwig explained that he “loved Twitch, but it was not always a two-way street.” He added that he received no communication from the Amazon-owned Twitch during or after his subathon where he “made us the most money anyone had ever made us in a month.”
