Foxtel and A+E Networks expand partnership

A+E Networks’ Pawn Stars

Australia’s Foxtel Group has expanded its partnership with US multinational A+E Networks, inking a multi-year deal to bring documentary and reality programming and films to its platforms.

The agreement includes exclusive premieres of content from Crime & Investigation, The History Channel, A&E and Lifetime Movie Network (LMN) for Foxtel, Foxtel Now and streaming service Binge, with titles including Pawn Stars, Court Cam, Forged in Fire and Cold Case Files.

This new deal marks a partnership of more than 20 years between the two companies, brining A+E content to Australian audiences.

Amanda Laing, Foxtel Group chief content and commercial officer, said, “This year we have seen audiences of Crime & Investigation, History and A&E content grow by more than 17% on Foxtel highlighting quality factual content is more popular than ever Australian audiences.

“In fact, last month we saw more than 1.3 million hours viewed of Pawn Stars and The First 48 by our loyal subscribers. We’re excited to be able to continue to unearth stories that evoke curiosity and a deep knowledge for the world around us.”

Earlier this week, Binge commissioned Love Me, a new romantic drama series based on the Swedish show Älska Mig, with a cast headed by Lord Of The Rings trilogy star Hugo Weaving.
