TDC names new head of Blockbuster VOD arm
Danish telco and cable operator TDC’s Nuuday services arm has named Louise Stenberg as the new director of its Blockbuster video-on-demand service.
Stenberg will take over from Casper Hald, who resigned as director of Blockbuster in November last year to seek new challenges outside Nuuday.
Stenberg has held various positions at Nuuday with a focus on strategy, sales and product development and has most recently been responsible for the group’s omnichannel strategy, where she led the development and implementation of activities to optimize the customer experience across analogue and digital platforms.
Before joining TDC in 2015 as strategy manager for key projects in Consumer Brands, Louise worked as a consultant for the consulting house Quartz + Co.
She will take up her new position on February 1.
Blockbuster is a transactional VOD offering providing rental, purchase and streaming of over 10,000 titles, including film premieres and the latest TV series. The service can be accessed via web, TV, mobile and tablet.
“I am very happy that we have such a strong internal candidate to lead Blockbuster forward. Over the last six years, Blockbuster under Casper’s leadership has developed from a good idea to being a market leader in Denmark with significant growth in the Nordic region. Blockbuster is no longer a start-up, but a well-founded and leading business, and Louise’s task will be, with the team, to develop Blockbuster’s position in Denmark and the Nordic countries. She comes to Blockbuster with a strong and versatile toolbox and experience in strategic and commercial business development, as well as optimization of digital customer-focused solutions,” said Jens Grønlund, director of Nuuday’s digital brands.
