Watch Brasil taps Accedo for SVOD
Brazilian video-on-demand outfit Watch Brasil has tapped technology company Accedo to build, launch, and support its SVOD service.
The video service is available to Watch Brasil’s Internet Service Provider clients in Brazil, enabling them to deliver video content to their customers across the region including to TVs.
Watch Brasil offers subscribers a mix of content, including international and local movies, series, documentaries, and children’s entertainment from studios and services including Sony Pictures, Paramount+, MTV, Comedy Central, Noggin, Universal and Warner. It will initially be available on Android TV devices such as Sony, TCL, Philco and Android TV Box, with more platforms due to launch shortly, including Samsung and LG Smart TVs.
Watch Brasil is using Accedo One, a SaaS platform for building and growing video services, and has integrated the service with Deep Recommender from cloud data specialist Jump, coupled with the business intelligence feature in Accedo One, to deliver content recommendations based on tracking and analyzing content consumption and similarity patterns.
Over the coming months, Accedo will be working with Watch Brasil to develop more apps and extend the service to other platforms.
Mauricio Almeida, co-founder, Watch Brasil, said: “We are providing our customers, the ISPs, with compelling content and a viewing experience that continually improves is key to help them retain and attract subscribers. Accedo’s expertise and support throughout the project have been critical in enabling us to deliver an engaging video service that can be continually personalized and updated to keep subscribers happy.”
Paloma Santucci, Latin America regional director, Accedo, said: “The OTT market has been growing dramatically in Brazil over recent months. With the growing demand for video across multiple platforms, this service is making it easy for Internet Service Providers to tap into that market successfully.”
