Viasat World’s Epic Drama launches on Bulgaria’s Bulsatcom
Viasat World-owned scripted channel Epic Drama has launched on Bulsatcom in Bulgaria, stocked with shows from ITV Studios (ITVS) among others.
Series available via the linear channel include Bavaria Films’ war drama Das Boot and ITVS detective series Endeavour.
The channel is included in Bulsatcom’s brand-new premium package, Premium +, for BGN19.99 per month or as an add on in the ‘Drama’ package for BGN2 per month. It joins the rest of the Viasat World portfolio – TV1000, Viasat History, Viasat Nature and Viasat Explore – on the platform.
The Bulgarian TV service provider has been a commercial partner of Viasat World since 2004 and the addition of Epic Drama to its line-up comes as a three-year deal extension for the rest of the channels in Viasat World’s portfolio was also agreed.
Bulsatcom plans to roll out the Epic Drama SVOD offering to its subscribers in the coming months at a date to be confirmed.
Emma Jones, VP of commercial at Viasat World, said: “Epic Drama has proven to be a huge success since its launch just over two years ago – giving the audience access to world-class, acclaimed drama content when and where they want it. With this launch, our partnership with Bulsatcom goes from strength to strength, as together we commit to serving drama fans with quality programming.”
Bulsatcom CEO Stanislav Georgiev added: “I am delighted to welcome Epic Drama to our channel line-up, where it will keep good company with Viasat World’s other core channels. With so much content available, we are focused on providing our viewers with access to channels which curate the best of what is on offer, especially in the movie, TV series and documentary genres.
“Viasat World is an expert in this field; its other channels are already firm favourites with our subscribers so we are confident that Epic Drama will also be a real hit.”
