Cellcom continues exec shakeup with CTO, CIO and VP appointments
Israeli telco Cellcom has announced the appointments of its new chief technology and information officers along with the hire of a new VP of excellence and innovation.
Yaniv Koriat is the company’s new CTO. He has served as Cellcom’s head of transport networks engineering since 2015. Prior to that, he was a team leader of transport and IP networks engineering, and also served as a deputy to the northern district manager of the network operations department.
The other top hire is Victor Malka as the company’s new CIO. The role previously reported to the CTO, but Malka will be reporting directly to the company’s CEO. Malka has served as an active communications consultant since 2019. Prior to that he spent just shy over 15 years working for Israli rival Bezeq.
The final hire is Atara Litvak-Shacham as Cellcom’s VP of excellence and innovation, effective immediately. Litvak-Shacham will also serve as interim VP marketing, television and content following the previous marketing VP’s resignation. Over a 15 year career, Litvak-Shacham has held a variety of roles at companies such as Partner Communications, Lomu and Bezeq.
This trio of hires comes after a tumultuous few months where several other key execs left their positions.
In September, both Yoni Sabag (VP of marketing) and Sholem Lapidot (CEO of Discount Investment Company, Cellcom’s holding company) announced their resignations. The highest-profile resignation came in December, when Cellcom CEO Nir Sztern announced he would step down after eight years in the post.
