Konka Group announces expansion into the US and Canada
Chinese TV maker Konka Group has announced a “major brand expansion” into North America.
Konka, which has been manufacturing TVs for 35 years, will launch a range of models in the US and Canada and use next month’s CES in Las Vegas to introduce many of its products to the market. The company will debut a range of 4K Ultra HD TVs and smart products at the event, with availability starting in the Spring.
The company holds over 5,000 TV patents, sells products in over 100 countries worldwide and has been named as one of the top 10 most valuable brands in China.
Konka said that its North American business will initially focus on selling its TV sets, before introducing its related smart home products to the market.
To lead the business, Konka has made three key appointments.
Scott Ramirez joins as SVP of sales and marketing, Bruce Fairchild will serve as VP of product marketing and sales operations while Paul Norton will be the company’s VP of sales.
Ramirez joins from Toshiba and will be responsible for sales and marketing. This also includes brand strategy, business planning, product planning, channel marketing and brand marketing.
Fairchild will hold several responsibilities including channel marketing and sales-related operational functions.
Norton will oversee all sales in the US and Canada.
Ramirez said: “I am honored and excited to help launch the Konka brand in North America. Konka has amazing people, incredible products and extensive manufacturing power. We will offer consumers a wide range of unique products with an unsurpassed combination of quality, technology and high value. Plus, we have a clear long-term vision, and will create true business partnerships for mutual growth and success.”
