VO hires ex-Disney exec Forbin as CSO
OTT and TV platform provider Viaccess-Orca (VO) has announced the appointment of Guillaume Forbin as its chief security officer.
In this role, Forbin will be responsible for protecting VO’s content protection solutions from current and future TV piracy threats. These products include CAS, DRM and secure video player.
The exec was previously the director of platform and content security at MENA pay TV network OSN. There, he was responsible for securing the company’s pay TV distribution platform and protecting its content from piracy.
Prior to that, Forbin led the Walt Disney Company’s content security efforts throughout EMEA. This involved delivering a regional content protection policy for distribution deals.
Paul Molinier, CEO of Viaccess-Orca said: “Guillaume’s extensive experience in content protection and fight against piracy with major content owners and distributors is a valuable addition to the VO team.
“In today’s digital video era, new forms of piracy are constantly evolving, threatening content monetisation and brand reputations. Leveraging his experience, Guillaume will ensure that our content security solutions and services are stronger than ever, assuring our customers can design efficient content protection strategies for secure delivery of premium content on every screen.”
The company has also announced the promotion of Philippe Lasry to executive vice president of solutions marketing and Arnaud Alvarez to executive vice president of global sales.
