Sky offers mobile TV without use of data allowance
Sky has unveiled a new version of its Watch mobile TV offering, which enables Sky customers to stream content through Sky apps in the UK and EU without using their data allowance.
Building on the existing Sky Watch offering, which enables viewers to download shows to their mobile to watch offline with Sky Go Extra, the new version enables unlimited streaming on any Sky app, such as Sky Go, Sky Kids, Sky Sports and Sky Cinema without using their mobile data allowance.
Watch is available to all Sky Mobile customers. What they can access will depend on their Sky TV subscription. Users without a TV package can still use streaming Sky apps that don’t require a subscription without using data, such as Sky News.
Sophia Ahmad, Director of Sky Mobile, said “We launched Sky Mobile to connect our customers to more of what they love. Streaming films and TV shows on-the-go is now one of the most popular ways to pass time while travelling or commuting – and our new Watch offer makes it easier for our customers to stay up to date with the unmissable must-watch television, from Game of Thrones to F1 races, that we know our customers love.”
