Vodafone Deutschland appoints CTO
Vodafone Deutschland has upped managing director of commercial operations, Gerhard Mack, to chief technology officer.
Mack replaces previous CTO Eric Kuisch, who announced plans to leave the company in October – three years after he joined Vodafone from Dutch operator KPN.
Vodafone Deutschland CEO, Hannes Ametsreiter, said that Mack “knows the company and is a proven technology expert – so he brings the ideal conditions for his new role. I look forward to working with him to shape the future of the Gigabit company.”
Mack has worked for Kabel Deutschland since 2006, continuing on at Vodafone after it closed its acquisition of the German cable operator in early 2014.
He became MD of commercial operations in April 2016, taking responsibility for the customer experience and customer services in Vodafone’s mobile, fixed network and TV businesses.
“Technology is at the heart of our company. Nothing characterises the customer experience as much as our network and our systems,” said Mack. “I’m really looking forward to my new job and thank the supervisory board for its trust.”
