NTV+ launches kids TV package with Megogo

Russian pay TV service provider NTV+ has struck a strategic partnership with OTT TV operator Megogo to launch a joint kids TV product as part of its OTT offering.

The new service, Detskiy Premium, offers an extended subscription to 15 kids channels and over 1,300 animated and live shows from the Megogo on-demand library for RUB299 (€4) a month.

The new service is already available on the ntvplus.tv website, on iOS and Android phones, and on Apple TV. NTV+ said it aimed to launch the feature on Android TV and other smart TV platforms soon.

The Megogo catalogue includes animated classics from the days of the USSR, as well as modern and international hits.

Viktor Chekanov, Megogo’s general director for Russia, said that the agreement marked “the beginning of a great collaboration” while Konstantin Smirnov, head of digital products at NTV+, said that the operator is planning to offer an increased range of content with more flexibile terms in partnership with third-party providers in the future.

In addition to Detskiy Premium, NTV+ offers premium packages covering movies, and adult content. The online service also includes thematic packages covering kids, sports, factual programming and adult content.

The OTT variant of NTV+’s service includes 200 channels along with features such as pause live TV and catch-up TV.
