Cyfrowy Polsat launches new set-tops
Polish pay TV operator Cyfrowy Polsat has launched two new set-top boxes for digital satellite customers.
The Evobox Lite and Evobox HD provide access to linear channels and on-demand multiscreen services Cyfrowy Polsat Go and HBO Go.
The two models of box are, like their predecessors, produced in-house by Cyfrowy Polsat at its InterPhone Service factory in Mielec.
The Evobox HD include build-in WiFi modules, a programme guide that allows users to filter programme positions, advanced search and the ability to set reminders, advanced metadata programme descriptions, the ability to create lists of favourite channels and the ability to navigate between them using the blue button on the remote control. Unicable technology allows users to simultaneously operate multiple tuners, switching channels quickly, and the automatic functioning of the Multiroom HD service authorisation. The boxes are available via Polsat’s points of sale for the price of PLN1.
Dariusz Działkowski, board member for technology at Cyfrowy Polsat, said that Cyfrowy Polsat was continuing to expand its hardware range and that the operator wanted to give customers the opportunity to choose equipment that best met their needs.
Cyfrowy Polsat launched its flagship set-top the Evobox PVR in 2016, enabling users to record up to three programmes at once.
