New CEO for A1 Telekom Austria as it grows TV base
A1 Telekom Austria Group has confirmed the appointment of Thomas Arnoldner as its new CEO, with effect from September 1.
Arnoldner, whose appointment was trailed in April, will replace Alejandro Plater, who has combined the role of CEO and chief operating officer, since 2015.
Arnoldner previously held a senior sales and services role with T-Systems.
A1 Telekom Austria has aligned the terms of all executive board mandates and has extended the contracts of Plater as COO and Siegfried Mayrhofer as chief financial officer. Plater, Mayrhofer and Arnoldner will hold their roles until August 2021, with an option to extend their mandates until 2023.
“We are pleased to announce that with Thomas Arnoldner’s appointment as CEO we have recruited a renowned ICT Executive. It is equally important to us to emphasize our confidence in the strong management team” said the board chairwoman Edith Hlawati. “With the early extension of the contracts of Alejandro Plater and Siegfried Mayrhofer we underline continuity in the management team.”
Separately, A1 Telekom Austria has posted results for quarter to the end of June that saw it grow its TV base in Austria to 305,200, up 5.2% year-on-year, despite a small decline in its fixed broadband base to 1.443 million.
In Bulgaria, TV subscribers increased 3.5% to 496,600, while in Croatia, the TV base grew by 3.9% to 217,000.
