TalkTalk in UK first with Hopster deal
UK service provider TalkTalk is to add kids on-demand service Hopster to its TV line-up.
The move means that TalkTalk will become the first UK TV provider to make Hopster content directly available as part of its kids TV offering.
TalkTalk TV customers who have the Kids Boost can now enjoy 500 Hopster episodes on demand from shows including the animated underwater series, Octonauts, segments from Sesame Street, the US’s longest running children’s series, and Hopster’s original animation, Two Minute Tales.
TalkTalk said that all content has been selected to tie into Hopster’s special early years curriculum, the Discovery Learning Map, and will teach kids about the world around them, how to interact appropriately with friends and family, basic numeracy, literacy and more.
Kids can watch Hopster’s educational content on-demand on the TV screen and on the go across multiple devices via the TalkTalk TV app. Users of the TalkTalk TV Kids Remote will be able to directly access 500 on-demand episodes of Hopster content and other popular kids’ shows from the operator’s dedicated Kids Zone.
TalkTalk TV Kids Boost subscribers have access to the newly added Hopster content as well as a raft of additional kids’ channels including Disney Channel, Nickelodeon and Boomerang for a monthly rolling cost of £6 with no long-term commitment. The TalkTalk TV Kids Remote is available for the one-off cost of £5.
Nick Walters, CEO at Hopster, said: “Our mission is to make entertainment safe and educational for preschoolers so we couldn’t be happier about our partnership with TalkTalk. We are glad to bring our carefully handpicked shows to TalkTalk TV subscribers as part of their Kids Boost package and give parents the peace of mind that while watching our content, their kids will always learn and discover something new.”
Aleks Habdank, managing director of TalkTalk TV said: “We’re delighted to have forged a new relationship with Hopster. Research shows that TV is still kids’ favourite place to watch content and now thanks to our partnership with Hopster we can offer more on demand kids shows than ever before. This new agreement coupled with our bespoke TalkTalk TV Kids Remote, cements TalkTalk TV as a compelling choice for families across the UK, offering what really matters – affordable entertainment the way they want it.”
