Travel strikes threat hanging over MIPTV
Air and rail strikes are taking place across France, which may cause disruption for MIPTV delegates.
A range of air service providers have warned that there may be delays over the next week due to an Air Traffic Control strike.
Currently, there may be disruptions on April 7 and 8 as well as April 10 and 11.
Easyjet said in a statement: “EasyJet have been informed of an Air Traffic Control strike affecting airspace around France on 7th and 8th April 2018. This may impact flights to and from French airports, as well as flights overflying France. We are planning to operate all flights, however it is likely that we will experience disruption on the day.”
Rail services will also be affected with many stating that there will be disruptions on April 8,9, 13 and 14. SNCF has confirmed that disruptions may occur outside of these dates as well and advises passengers to check the running of their trains before departure.
Eurostar also issued a statement on the matter, as it warns passengers of cancelled trains for April 8. It does, however, expect to run 80% of its services during the strike period.
MipDoc and MipFormats are set to kick off this weekend with MipTV beginning Monday April 9.
