New sports news channel for Com Hem and Boxer subs
Swedish newspaper Expressen has struck a deal with cable operator Com Hem and its Boxer digital-terrestrial TV arm to launch new sports news channel SportExpressen TV on the Com Hem and Boxer networks.
The channel, which is broadcasting 24-hour news coverage of the Olympic Winter Games in Korea, will be available free of charge to Com Hem’s 655,000 subscribers and Boxer’s 443,000 subscribers.
Expressen’s news channel Expressen TV has been available on Com Hem’s network since September last year.
The channel will be available via Com hem’s Gold package.
Simon Gate, content manager at Com Hem, said that the operator’s customers would appreciate getting access to news updates and sports coverage during the Winter Games.
Expressen, which is owned by the Bonnier Group, which also owns commercial broadcaster TV4 and pay TV channels provider C More, is one of Sweden’s two leading tabloid newspapers alongside Aftonbladet.
