Conax highlights TVkey security at CES
Conax is due to highlight TVkey, a direct-to-TV security solution developed by its parent company Kudelski Group and Samsung, at this year’s CES.
Conax TVkey is designed to let pay TV operators securely deliver content, including 4K Ultra HD and HDR, direct to smart TV sets through a USB dongle and HbbTV and HTML5 frameworks.
“Conax TVkey integrates all the latest advancements in content security,” said the company in a statement. “It utilises a secure media path and the TVkey hardware root of trust as part of TVkey-compatible TVs.
“It also fully complies with MovieLabs requirements for Enhanced Content Protection of premium 4K Ultra HD/HDR content with watermarking by NexGuard, another Kudelski Group company.”
Conax TVkey is currently supported on Samsung Smart TV models, including all Ultra HD and most Full HD TVs. Kudelski Group and Samsung plan to create a joint TVkey Trust Authority in 2018 to support additional TV brands and CAS vendors.
Kudelski and Samsung first launched TVKey ahead of IBC in September 2016.
