BBC poaches Channel 4’s finance director

Channel 4’s group finance director, Glyn Isherwood, will swap public service broadcasters in the new year after being appointed the BBC’s group finance and operations director.

Isherwood will lead the BBC’s finance and procurement teams and will take overall responsibility for workplace and BBC Studioworks. He will also sit on the BBC’s executive committee.

“Glyn is highly experienced at providing long-term financial strategy and ensuring strong business performance of creative and digital organisations,” said BBC deputy director-general, Anne Bulford.

“As we invest in our content and services and continue with our efficiency agenda, the industry knowledge, experience and enthusiasm Glyn brings to the role will provide financial leadership for the challenges ahead.”

Isherwood has been at Channel 4 since 2007 and became group finance director there in 2013. Prior to Channel 4 he was director of financial control at ITV.
